About Us

We’re here to spark curiosity, build confidence, and make learning a powerful, personal journey.

Igniting Minds. Transforming Futures.

More Than Tutors – We’re the Teachers Students Remember

We’re here to do more than help with homework. We’re here to ignite curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning – the very things that fuel real progress.

At Ignito Tuition, we believe learning should feel personal, practical, and powerful. We’ve built a space where students feel safe enough to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow – not just in their schoolwork, but in their confidence and independence too.

We know the traditional classroom doesn’t work for every student. That’s why we offer something different: small group tuition sessions that are structured, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable. We use real science equipment, interactive tools, and hands-on materials such as buzzers, blocks, mini whiteboards, and colour printed resources to bring learning to life.

We’re not just a team of passionate tutors – we’re mentors, motivators, and the kind of educators that students remember. Our aim is to be the people they look back on and say, “they helped me believe in myself.”

Whether your child joins us in one of our in-person group sessions or logs in from home for our fully interactive online classes, they’ll receive the same high-quality teaching, support, and attention to detail every time.

Confidence. Curiosity. Connection. Care

Meet the Team

Get to know the people behind the sessions

Every student at Ignito works with a tutor who genuinely cares – and we mean that. Our team is made up of experienced teachers and subject specialists who bring energy, patience, and expertise into every session. But they’re also musicians, football fans, bakers, gym-goers, puzzle-solvers, and all-round brilliant humans.

We want you to know exactly who’s supporting your child, so we’ve asked our tutors a few
questions to help you get to know them before you even walk through the door.

Below, you’ll find a profile for each member of our team – including their subjects, teaching strengths, and a few fun facts.

Subjects: Maths & Science

What’s your background in teaching or tutoring?
I began my journey in education back in 2019, working as a Maths mentor at my old high school. From there, I transitioned into a Science mentor role, which I continued until the pandemic hit. When schools faced staffing shortages during COVID, I stepped up to teach Science full-time and I never looked back!

I spent several rewarding years in the classroom before making the leap in September 2023 to leave teaching and focus entirely on my own venture. I founded Ignito Tuition in November 2021 while still working in school, fuelled by a desire to teach in a way that was more hands-on, engaging, and effective than the rigid systems I saw in place.

What began as a side project has now become my full-time mission: helping students ignite confidence, curiosity, and a real subject understanding, allowing them to rediscover their love for learning.

What do you enjoy most about working with students at Ignito?
Seeing the moment it clicks. That shift from confusion to confidence, when a student who once rattled on with “I’m so bad at this” starts answering questions with certainty. We’ve built an environment where students aren’t afraid to get things wrong or ask questions. Watching them grow in confidence, not just in a subject but in themselves and knowing I had a part to play in that transformation really makes it all worth it.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of teaching?
When I can find the time, I’m a fan of all things action. Whether it’s gaming on my PC (Star Wars Battlefront II, Fortnite, or anything fast-paced), or watching a good thriller, war film, or action movie. I grew up as a competitive swimmer and spent 21 years in the pool, so staying active is still important to me. These days, I mix things up between gym sessions and the odd swim and maybe a run at a push! I also love creating content as ‘Mr Wells’, travelling (especially by cruise ship), trying new places for a good coffee.

Fun fact about you or guilty pleasure?
I’ve always had a weakness for food, all food (except fishy things) but Chinese takeaway has been my ultimate weakness for as long as I can remember. Back when I was swimming competitively, I went through a solid few months where I’d have one every single week. South Wooton Takeaway was the go to! These days I have to watch the waistline a bit more, but the craving still hits. That, and saying “just one more game” with mates online… and suddenly it’s 2am.

Do you have a favourite sport/activity or support a football team?
I’m not a big football follower, but like most people, I’ll always watch when England are playing. My real passion has always been swimming – I swam since 3 years of age, competitively for 16 years, and it’s still my go-to sport. These days I mix in some gym sessions and the occasional run. I absolutely love to drag my friends to inftable water parks like Rutland Water. Love an obsticle course!
