I’ve been working closely with students in both Maths and Science from GCSE through to A Level for four years now. I’ve spent the last three years teaching in the classroom, as well as online over the national lockdowns. I love it!

I’m a young, energetic and creative educator and these qualities have given me an edge in my career. I find it easy to understand the thoughts of the young people I work with. This has proven invaluable in helping them grasp difficult concepts in the classroom..

Through my experience teaching I’ve come across many young people who have doubted their own ability at school and I’ve seen how it can affect them outside of the classroom. I believe it’s incredibly important to help these individuals smash those boundaries they hold in their own way. Not only that, but it’s great fun too!

I wish only to be able to help more - that’s why I started Ignito Tuition.

Our mission is to guide as many young people as possible in their learning to give them the freedom to grow with a new found confidence. I’m excited to see the growth that those students involved with Ignito will see in themselves.

I have worked in several schools for over 30 years, teaching across the year groups ranging from Year 3 all the way up to Year 13. I have taught Science at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form and the full curriculum at Key Stage 2. I have enjoyed being subject lead in Science and PE and feel it is important for children to understand the world around them as well as themselves to enable them to lead healthy, balanced lives and contribute positively to our world.

Over the years I have gained a broad and detailed knowledge of the curriculum and the key misconceptions that some children may have, as well as the ways to support children to overcome these. I have also developed a thorough knowledge of the important concepts and skills that form the foundation for successful learning. More importantly, I have learnt to develop a positive working environment where there is mutual respect, trust and encouragement.

I had a negative experience of school as a child, and I wanted to become a teacher to learn from those experiences and provide a caring and enabling environment which develops the potential of every child. I enjoy supporting children to succeed and develop a passion for their own learning as well as giving them the life skills for the future

I have been fortunate to enjoy working and living overseas in Germany and Cyprus. I have been employed in early years settings and while bringing up my three boys, NCH teenage support worker, Surestart, Home start volunteer, primary school and 17 years supporting secondary school students. During this time, I have always tried to enhance learning by breaking down into easy steps, trying various different ways to help the students.

I have also learnt along side our pupils by achieving my GCSE in maths in 2010, which I started while living out in Cyprus in 2003. This has been a lifelong passion to achieve!

As I say to the students, everyday is a school day for you and us as adults as no 2 days are ever the same.

At present I am employed in the Technology department in a wide range of lessons ranging from year 7 to year 11.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of supporting the students coming to Ignito and the passion of the teachers who deliver the lessons.
